![]() As a product, it seemed to be abandoned for a long time, then came back to life. I like Highlights, but unfortunately do not trust it. If you want to focus on one-off PDFs that do not need to be managed as a group, then Highlights is OK for this. For me, MarginNote is unique in its ability to handle that. Personally, I have large corpuses of dual-language source texts comprising thousands of pages of text in deeply intertwined (cross-referenced) documents. I have them all, and prefer MarginNote - though it has some weird and frustrating interface issues.īacking up to the beginning though – the question is what’s your use case? Are you taking notes for academic research? For personal records? Something else? If you are taking notes on a corpus of PDFs that are related to one-another, and want to bring in web-resources into the notes then MarginNote is very good for this. may have to check back into LiquidText.Hmmm, MarginNote, LiquidText, Highlights are not suddenly new – they’ve all been around for several years. I can't give more than one star to an app that I can't find functional no matter the potential it has. I'm switching back to the original the app Pro, even though it is far from perfect, I know I can reliably and easily read and highlight any text I need. I really don't know what developers are thinking when they do this kind of stuff. Not to mention that they made it even harder to organize and access all your files, which has always been an absolute disaster in this app. Don't get me wrong, the original the app was far from perfect, but it did this very simple task very well! Now with this app they have completely changed the workflow and made this very simple task almost impossible and just not fun to do. As a student in professional school and an avid reader, it was the absolute best app to easily read whatever you needed to, make quick highlights and easily review those highlights. I've been a huge fan of the app Pro for several years now. Gotta love updates that try to fix what isn't broken Bu I won't ever use it because I need a workflow now. If there is no manual you don't get my money, which is too bad because this looks like a powerful and useful app. This isn't normal for me since I take the time to master the apps I use including other apps with steep learning curves like Scrivener. I got frustrated and have deleted the app. A free trial is no good if it takes longer than 14 days to even get started. I am not spending hours combing forums to figure out how to even get started. The developers apparently speak Mandarin and have not made an English manual and the translations of what help is there is very confusing. There is no help on the website other than videos that go at a breakneck pace so you can't even follow them. No developer should ever release an app without a manual available. There is no manual as many in the forum have complained about for over a year. Unfortunately, I can not figure out how to use it and I am fairly computer savy.
